Strategic Planning

Ongoing discussion via email about a draft vision statement:

The Merrill-Cazier Library will be the preferred portal to high quality information by anticipating and meeting the needs of the Utah State University community in its pursuit of learning. As the intellectual center of campus, the Library strives to create environments that foster inquiry, collaboration, and discovery. The library staff applies its expertise and a commitment to service to solve information problems, devise new strategies for access and delivery, add value to information, and enhance the learning experience. While building on our valued foundation as conservators of human knowledge, the Library embraces evolving technologies and seizes opportunities to facilitate the engagement of future users with changing collections [resources?].

Lots of comments about it being to full of jargon. Hmmm. It doesn’t read very well, but jargon?
